Nitida Coronata 2007 93 Points

Bordeaux style white blends with Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, that just needed time to shed it’s rather awkward character when just released…… 7 years after vintage, this is a magnificent offering firmly amongst South Africa’s best in it’s style, a striking feature is how the oak is supportive and unshowy compare to other similar style from top end producers in Stellenbosch, no nutty, toasty, matchstick character here, just pure bright, seamless purity, beaming with energy and focus, only the color have change, bright gold now.
None of the varietal dominate, no asparagus or green pepper here, yet it is high in pyrazine character which seems to subtle down with time in decanter, the core offering being lifted by a delicately fragrant and pine resin profile, broad texture, yet not creamy, multi layered, this will easily last another 7 years at least
