Austere, hints of citrus and faint hint of lime. Fresh, crisp, clean lemon, light toast aftertaste. Tense minerality and structure, need time. Old world austerity, lacking complexity and structure. What a drastic change in style, vintages from 1996 to 2001 was arguably the closest a Cape Chardonnay could get to a fine Meursault, then a transition in style between 2002 and 2005.................. however the 2008 is more kind of Chablis like, fresher with citrus fruit delicacy.........possible 83 points, if it could do with more vibrancy..............perhaps higher rating.....
