Constantia Glen, the magnificently appointed boutique wine estate known for its superb cool climate Sauvignon Blancs with great ageing potential, will provide an elegant taste of the Constantia Valley at the Spring Sauvignon Blanc Festival at Montecasino www.montecasino.co.za held at the Pivot Courtyard from Friday, 31 August to Sunday, 2 September.

The Constantia Glen Sauvignon Blanc 2011 will be showcased alongside some of South Africa’s finest, offering a refreshing taste of Spring. Full and rich with abundant flavourconcentration that is beautifully balanced by crisp acidity and well-defined minerality, the Sauvignon Blanc 2011 is a classic Constantia wine with beautiful elegance and length. “A small portion of Semillon (10%) adds weighty texture and the mouth-coating richness is accentuated by the maturation of the wine on the lees for five months after fermentation,” says winemaker Justin van Wyk.

Cool climate Sauvignon Blanc wines benefit dramatically from bottle ageing before release and the Constantia Glen Sauvignon Blanc is a prime example of this phenomenon.
