Uitkyk Carlonet Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 92 Points

I’ve always admired Simonsberg Cabernet when it’s well made, however they need time and only really grab attention when they are at least 6 years following vintage.
I would go as far as saying that Simonsberg ward in Stellenbosch district produces South Africa, most exciting, elegant and fragrant Cabernet, they always have a leafy, herbaceous character, yet not green or unripe, with an underlying savoriness, found nowhere and they just get better and better with bottle age.
This is one of the best Carlonet ever released, all components getting together, juicy, fine grip, persistent length, exceptional value if one considers even the current release price
