Mullineux Family Vineyards Swartland Syrah 2011 94 Points

Same vineyard block as 2010 vintage, leaning more towards Chateauneuf-du-Pape in profile, showing bright ruby red with purple rim, perfectly ripe red fruits, plums, mulberries, floral layers, black olive note, spicy rosemary, subtle oaking.

Dry, juicy, delicate and savory with moderate plus alcohol of 13.5% abv, very fresh with moderate plus acidity, crunchy and sappy, probably due to the 40% whole bunch ferment, perfectly in balance here with no green edge, I like the energy and focus in this wine, with impressive purity of fruit follows through, precise, ripe moderate tannins will melt over time, so seductive now yet have impressive stamina for at least until 2029+

This is one if not South Africa's and outside the Rhone Valley, finest Syrah
