CAPE LEGENDS SHINES AT DECANTER WORLD WINE AWARDS

CAPE LEGENDS SHINES AT DECANTER WORLD WINE AWARDS

Cape Legends, the specialty fine wine sales and marketing division of Distell, saw its wines widely acknowledged at the 2013 Decanter World Wine Awards in London.

Fleur du Cap walked away with the trophy for the best South African sweet wine under ₤15, as well as a gold medal for its 2011 Noble Late Harvest, while Lomond’s 2011 Cat’s Tail Syrah, Plaisir de Merle's 2011 Sauvignon Blanc, Zonnebloem's 2010 Laureat and Uitkyk's 2009 Carlonet, a Cabernet Sauvignon dominated blend, all won gold.

Fewer than 2% of wines entered achieve a sufficiently high score to receive gold in the event billed as the world's biggest wine competition.

"The international affirmation for the wines in the Cape Legends portfolio boosts the reputation of the collection itself, as well as the individual wine brands and provides an important marketing impetus in a highly competitive arena," said Ross Sleet, Marketing Director of Cape Legends.
