De Grendel Western Cape MCC Brut 2010 79 Points
A blend of 65% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Noir, total production of 5449 bottles.
Pale straw with slight coppery tinges, fairly coarse perlage.
Clean, moderate intensity, primary sugary dust note, ripe melon, green pineapples, hints of candy floss, not much leesy character, rather one dimensional.
Properly Brut with a fairly high dosage, rich style, melon note follows through with brush of oak, fresh with low acidity, moderate alcohol of 12.5% abv, good lenght, drink now until 2014+
