AMARULA GOLD DAZZLES NEW YORK

Amarula Gold has been crowned Liqueur of the Year at the 2014 New York International Spirits Competition (NYISC), debuting in the US in high style.

A world-first, the clear gold spirit aperitif, with a 30% alcohol by volume, is a totally original, cream-free expression of the wild-harvested marula fruit, indigenous to sub-Saharan Africa.

The NYISC gold medallist is made for mixing and has an aromatic, bold and vibrant marula flavour and very smooth finish. Launched exclusively in South Africa and in duty-free outlets globally, Amarula Gold has been wowing connoisseurs wherever it appears, and can be enjoyed neat on the rocks, or with a variety of mixers in tall drinks, cocktails and shooters.

Just like Amarula Cream, it’s made with real marula fruit fermented with the skins for maximum extraction of flavour, and turned into marula wine, which is twice distilled and aged in brandy oak casks for two years - but that’s where the resemblance ends.

Unlike indulgent Amarula Cream, Amarula Gold can be enjoyed equally in high energy environments, and is as popular with men as it is with women.

Amarula Gold was given the winning vote by the NYISC panel of judges, all from the liquor trade. They blind tasted the entries, submitted from across the world, evaluating them on the basis of category and price. The competition claims to be the only international spirits competition where all judges come from the trade, with a thorough understanding of what consumers want. They’re drawn from New York's top spirits stores, restaurants and hotels, and include mixologists, sommeliers and other specialists working in hospitality and retail.

Amarula Gold is available from stockists countrywide and retails for around R145.
