Painted Wolf Lekanyane 2009 85+ Points

An energetic Coastal Region Cape blend of 51% Chenin Blanc, 26% Viognier and 23% Verdelho from the stellar 2009 vintage.

Bright pale with yellow green reflections, clean with slight reduction initially, with aerations reveals preserves ripe stone fruits such as peaches and apricot in syrup, candied citrus, honey, slight terpene notes, characteristics I have found in aged Verdelho, quite similar to aged Riesling, subtle spicy oak.

Dry with dash residual sugar, creating a sense of fullness, textured and creamy with medium plus acidity, still lively for a nearly 4 year old white blend, fresh with very high alcohol of 14.5%, catching up on back throat, juicy lemony and grapefruit zest note and ample fruit to support, quite concentrated, toasty element, drinking, drinking well now, but may kept up to 2017
