Cuvée restaurant extends five course Cabernet and Venison Evenings

Simonsig Cabernet Sauvignon

Saturday, 13 July and 31 August 2013

The winter hunt at Cuvée, Simonsig’s signature restaurant in the heart of the Stellenbosch Winelands has been extended with one extra five course venison feast at the end August. Two not-to-be-missed Cabernet and Venison evenings will be held on Saturday, 13 July and Saturday, 31 August 2013.

Cuvée’s venison inspired menu kicks off with a palate enticing springbok biltong soup served with Healy’s mature cheddar soufflé followed by invigorating smoked kudu carpaccio with butter poached potatoes and truffled hollandaise. A verjuice refresher will cool things down before diners can tuck into a mouthwatering slow braised springbok shank with parsnip puree, spinach and hydrated peaches for mains. For the sweet tooth a delicious steamed orange pudding with milk and pistachio ice cream will round off the evening.

To accompany the hearty dinner guests can delight in the deep Persian carpet red Simonsig 2001 Magnum Cabernet Sauvignon to be served throughout the evening. Sweet, ripe blackcurrant confit with hints of the earthy forest floor lends this 12 year old vintage its typical Cabernet Sauvignon character; a perfect companion to venison.

Cuvée’s Cabernet and Venison evenings start at 19h00 on Saturday, 13 July and Saturday, 31 August 2013 and cost R295 per person. Guests will receive a 10% discount on all wines purchased on the evening. Bookings are essential.
