VAN RYN'S RANKED EXCEPTIONAL IN INTERNATIONAL EVENT

Three of the four specialty brandies in the Van Ryn's Collection Reserve range have been highlighted for distinction by the judging panel at this year's International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) in London, to win what the organisers term, gold outstanding medals. The fourth brandy has earned gold.

The 12, 15 and 20 Year Olds scored gold outstanding in their respective classes, with the 10 Year Old taking gold.

To win gold, a contender must earn a score of at least 90. Those judged exceptional are honoured with gold outstanding medals.

The 12 Year Old was described by the judges as "a masterpiece of satisfaction", the 15 Year Old as having "superb balance" and the 20 Year Old as having "an incredibly rich palate" and as "satisfying and relaxing in a luxurious way."

Earlier this month, the Van Ryn's 10 Year Old also won gold at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, while a few weeks ago, the Van Ryn's 10 Year Old and 12 Year Old came home with gold from the International Spirits Challenge.

The title of IWSC Worldwide Best Brandy for 2013 went to Asbach Private Brand 8 Jahre Gereift, a brandy from Germany. Van Ryn's is a former multiple winner of the title.

South Africa dominated the 2013 gold outstanding brandy IWSC roll of honour with Van Ryn's featuring more prominently than any other brand, followed by Oude Meester.
