Danie de Wet Nature in Concert Robertson Pinot Noir 2009 90 Points

Having followed and poured every vintages since their maiden release, this is by far Robertson district most sensual and consistent Pinot Noir with no direct competition as yet, from it’s immediate neighbors in the valley , the 2009 shows a pale cherry red with garnet rim.
Clean, moderate intensity, ripe cherries, plums, raspberry jam, earthy dark soils, hints of mushroom, starting to move into a secondary evolution, subtly oaked, spicy and pure.
Dry with moderate plus acidity, fresh, crunchy ripe tannins, pure and savory, textured with mid palate stuffing, dry cranberry acidity, integrated high alcohol of 14% abv giving some punch and almost a masculine feel, Nature in Concert sits right there with the very best of Hemel en Aarde and sub wards, Elgin , Durbanville and Stellenbosch top Pinot producers, another testament that men’s passion can turn out stellar wine in some of the hottest and possibly the least hype wine district of the Cape. Go for it and give it a try. Well done.
