Durbanville Hills Winery has added another accolade to its string of recent international awards with a special plaque from the influential food and wine lovers group Chaîne des Rôtisseurs awarded to The Eatery at Durbanville Hills.

A blazon or brass plaque is awarded to a chef or dining establishment that maintains a superb level of cuisine, service and hospitality, as required by the standards of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs internationally, and on recommendation of its local committee.

The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is an international society devoted to choice dining and the camaraderie of the table, and promotes the art of fine cuisine amongst both amateur and professional gastronomes. It selects the best venues for its events and rewards these with a plaque of recognition.

Allison Rutowitz, outgoing Bailli of the Chaîne’s Bailliage du Cap, presented the plaque to Durbanville Hills MD Albert Gerber at a special function.
The Eatery may display its brass plaque at the establishment and on menus to indicate excellence in food and service, as long as it remains a member in good standing.

In addition to a number of prestigious awards received in the last few months Durbanville Hills Chardonnay 2010 recently scored a five star rating at the UK’s first wine and food matching competition, judged by some of the world’s best sommeliers, where wines were blind-tasted to determine which paired best with foods.
