Seven Springs Vineyards Overberg Sauvignon Blanc 2011 91+ Points

As the vineyard matures and winemaker Riana van der Merwe having a better understanding of each block, it's gratifying to see the quality and complexity grows and that is only their second vintage.

Here a Sauvignon Blanc, as pale as water with the faintest hints of green, that shows no scars of ages, yes it might be 2+ years old, yet it is as fresh as a daisy and embryonic with a clean, bright and upfront perfectly ripe fruit revealing complex layers of green kiwi, gooseberries, blackcurrant leaves, mineral with impressive purity of fruit.

Dry and juicy with a broad textured mid palate stuffing, dash of residual sugar, spicy peppery core with a moderate plus acidity lending pin point freshness and precision, medium to full bodied with a moderate plus alcohol of 13.5% abv, concentrated, long and persistent, moreish, charming.
Now until 2017.

Another testament of moderate climate Sauvignon benefiting from time in bottle.
Pairs suprisingly well with Woolworths 6 months Matured White Cheddar!
