of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, you'll be spoilt for choice with a
decadent picnic spread including prawn skewers, wholesome salmon trout and
cucumber salad. Picnic lovers can look forward to Eleanor’s famous snoek páté,
preserved figs, artisanal cheeses, crisp fresh fruit and creamy strawberry
cheesecake. These are just some of the delights in the basket served with a
bottle of Hartenberg Estate wine and a glass of pink bubbly.
As a flag bearer for
conservation and sustainable farming, Hartenberg’s philosophy of protecting the
environment is evident in every aspect of the estate, even on Valentine’s Day.
In addition to sourcing local ingredients as far as possible to minimise their
carbon footprint, completely biodegradable containers are used and made into
compost to feed the vines.
