Ridgeback Coastal Region Shiraz 2007 88+ Points
Bright, ryby red with slight purple rim, barely a sign of evolution, color holding well for a 2007!
Clean, high intensity, macerated dark plums in spirits, blackberry, liquorice, floral complexity, rosemary and lavender, spicy, peppery spice, cloves, black olives, earthy, delicate oaking lending coconut and vanilla note, toasty, tobacco complexity.
Dry with dash residual sugar, moderate plus acidity, sappy freshness, vibrant, crunchy ripe tannins, oakier on texture than nose suggest, delicate extraction, good purity of fruit with moderate plus alcohol of 13.5% abv, mineral graphite farewell.
Drinking well now, but will hold until 2018.
