Deetlefs Estate De Hageveld Red Breedekloof 2011 89+ Points



Blend of 29% Merlot, 23% Pinotage, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Malbec and 12 % Shiraz, 100 % Breedekloof, showing a clear, bright, ruby red with slight cerise rim color.

Clean, lifted aromatics, ripe cherries, delicately ripe plums and blackcurrant, excellent purity of fruit, brush of earthy, pebbly note, subtle oaking, spicy.

Dry, with moderate plus acidity, very fresh, crunchy ripe medium tannins, just ripe red berries, savory, delicate extractions, spicy core, moderate plus alcohol (13.5% abv) long and persistent.

If you like Rupert & Rothschild Classique or Kanonkop Kadette, you will enjoy this wine, made is a similar appeal, yet have enough charm and character to be a great glass of red for anytime enjoyment.  A must try.
