Embrace nature with a Valentine’s picnic at Hartenberg Wine Estate

Add a touch of winelands romance to your Valentine’s Day on Wednesday, 14 February with a relaxed, late afternoon picnic on the lush lawns of Hartenberg Wine Estate in Stellenbosch.

Whether you choose to sit at a table or lounge on cushions under the trees, you'll certainly find the perfect little nook in Hartenberg’s beautiful garden to share some delicious picnic bites with the special person in your life. Prepared with an abundance of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, you'll be spoilt for choice with a decadent picnic spread including prawn skewers, wholesome salmon trout and cucumber salad. Picnic lovers can look forward to Eleanor’s famous snoek páté, preserved figs, artisanal cheeses, crisp fresh fruit and creamy strawberry cheesecake. These are just some of the delights in the basket served with a bottle of Hartenberg Estate wine and a glass of pink bubbly.

As a flag bearer for conservation and sustainable farming, Hartenberg’s philosophy of protecting the environment is evident in every aspect of the estate, even on Valentine’s Day. In addition to sourcing local ingredients as far as possible to minimise their carbon footprint, completely biodegradable containers are used and made into compost to feed the vines.

Hartenberg Wine Estate’s Valentine’s Day picnic is available between 12h00 and 18h30 at R380 per couple and includes a bottle of estate wine and a glass of Villiera Brut Rosé. Bookings for this special picnic are essential. Call Tel: (+27)21-8652541, Email:info@hartenbergestate.com or visit www.hartenbergestate.com.
