Deetlefs Estate De Hegeveld Breedekloof White 2011 87 Points



Semillon led blend with 75%, Chardonnay 17% and Sauvignon Blanc 8%, all components were oak fermented with 20% new wood for ageing, the balance was 50% oak combination and 50% unoaked for freshness, showing a straw gold with yellow reflections.

Clean, stony fruit, citrus burst, peppery, honeyed and spicy, hints of minerality, subtle oaking.
Dry with dash of residual sugar, medium acidity, fresh and juicy, creamy texture, moderate alcohol of 13% abv, long and persistent, will gain complexity with bottle age, good now, will be better from 2014.
