Paul Cluver Estate Elgin Chardonnay 2012 91+ Points

Priviledge to have a preview tasting of the soon to be released 2012 Elgin Chardonnay, is another nail in the coffin to re-affirm that Paul Cluver Estate besides their other sexy wines, are arguably one of South Africa’s and the New World best Chardonnay producer.

The 2012 exhibits a pale straw with yellow green reflections.

Clean, moderate plus intensity, sweetly ripe with tropical fruits, citrus and glazed pineapples.
Dry and juicy, richly textured, very fresh with precise acidity, honeyed mid palate with a waxy stuffing note, glossy profile yet have a lot of energy, flinty minerals add charm.

Probably the most seductive Chardonnay the estate have release to date, drinking very well now, yet stamina for further bottle evolution up to 2021+
