Wildekrans Estate Bot River Cabernet Franc Merlot

A blend of 78% Cabernet Franc and 22% Merlot, Clear garnet red showing evolution, brown towards the rim.

Clean, moderate plus intensity, very ripe style with alcohol noticeable, shadowing dark red fruits, plums, blackberries, leafy but not green, peppery, slightly oaky lending toasty cedar wood, tobacco and spicy note.

Dry with dash residual sugar, juicy, broad mouthfeels, medium plus acidity, fresh, medium plus tannins, lending a firm structure, savoury, hints of black olive note, full bodied with high alcohol of 14% abv, long and persistent.

An interesting wine that would have been much better if probably was harvested earlier! Nevertheless if you are a fan of high alcohol wine, you will be more than rewarded, now until 2019
