Wildekrans Estate Osiris Barrel Selection Bot River Shiraz 2009 79 Points

Ruby red showing advanced evolution for a 2009 vintage with garnet hue and brown towards the rim.

Clean, very oaky at this stage even shadowing the very ripe dark red plums, blueberry jam, massively built, some wet earth note, spicy, peppery, four spice medley, black olives, lots going on here.

Dry with dash residual sugar, slightly on the higher side 3g/l or possibly more? moderate plus acidity, probably acidified as it is not fully integrated, minty freshness and savory though with ripe medium tannin, full bodied and juicy with high alcohol of 14% abv, showy wine made to impress huge ego, but will be a challenge to paired with food, wine is simply too big and oaky! might probably settle with time, now until 2020+
