The Chocolate Block 2012 92 Points

Current vintage follows same profile as last few years, consistent with an exotic feels accentuated by Viognier who seems to be slightly more showy this time, lending a peach cashmere character with ripe dark red fruits, spicy with juicy concentration, rich and full bodied, perfect for the cold winter nights ahead of us.
Blend of 70% Syrah with 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Grenache Noir, 6% Cinsault and 1% Viognier.

Alcohol: high | 14 %abv

Origin: Western Cape blends

Notes: plums |mulberries |blackcurrant| fresh lavender| spicy

Ideal drinking occasions: winter

Serve with: fresh gurnard vindaye
