ISSUED
BY DKC (DE KOCK COMMUNICATIONS) FOR DISTELL INTERNATIONAL WHISKIES
Scotch whisky brands
Bunnahabhain, Scottish Leader and Black Bottle will be telling a tale or two at
three upcoming Whisky Live Showroom events* scheduled for April in Durban, May
in Pretoria and June in Cape Town.
Join Scotch whisky
expert Pierre Meintjes in your city, when he brings novices and aficionados
closer to the exciting world of whisky. Considered not only a leading whisky
authority in South Africa, where he is known as Mr Whisky, Meintjes is also one
of just 159 Masters of the Quaich worldwide, a very select honour bestowed by
the Scottish whisky industry.
He will be presenting a
trio of top brands, starting with the Bunnahabhain range of award-winning
single malts: a 12-, 18- and 25-year-old. All un-chillfiltered, they represent a return to a
traditional technique that intensifies colour, aroma and flavour, expressed as
naturally as when they come out of the cask. Bunnahabhain 25-year-old won
a double gold medal at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It was
also awarded the title of Best Islay Single Malt 21 Years and Over at the 2015
World Whiskies Awards, while at the same event the 18-year-old took the title
of Best Islay Single Malt 13 to 20 Years.
Reformulated Scottish Leader that sells in more than 60 countries around
the globe, will also be presented. South Africa was chosen as the very
first market to receive the new-generation, new-look Scottish Leader
range.
Says SA marketing manager Taygan Govinden: “Scottish Leader has been revitalised
with a new look and an enhanced recipe that has upped the single malt content
of Scottish Leader Original. We shall also be introducing a very premium
blend called Scottish Leader Signature that offers Scotch lovers an enticingly
complex and layered whisky with a very rich, smoky profile.”
Meintjes will also be
sharing the story and taste of the new Black Bottle, an ultra-versatile blend
of single malt and grain whiskies that's back in black packaging with a revised
recipe closer to the original 19th century taste created by founder Gordon
Graham. When it was launched in 1879, Black Bottle came in a black bottle, but
when World War I interrupted supplies, the producers switched to green. Now, a
century later, it’s back in its original colour.
Bunnahabhain, Scottish
Leader and Black Bottle whiskies are crafted by the expert hand of Scotch
master distiller Ian MacMillan.
