If fine wine,
delicious street food and chillaxed vibes are your thing then do not miss out
on the last Stellenbosch Street Soiree for summer when it will march out with a
‘pop up pavement celebration’ unlike any other on Wednesday, 12 March 2014.
These monthly,
communal gatherings transform the oak-lined streets of Stellenbosch into a
colourful hub of food, wine and live music where strangers become friends over
a glass of wine and a bite to eat – right there in the street.
Ending the season on a
vibrant high, the AmaZink AllStars will bring their township theatre to town
with a pulsating music and dance performance.
The lower part of
Church Street is where all the action is at, with wine tastings offered by more
than 20 Stellenbosch wine farms and decadent bites by participating vendors
beckoning enthusiasts to revel in a slice of the Stellenbosch lifestyle.
“Before we all go into
winter hibernation we invite enthusiasts to join us for the final street ‘kuier’ this
season and to enjoy our amazing local talent – whether it be through wine,
food, song or dance. So come early and make the most of this after-work
gathering,” shares Elmarie Rabe, events manager for Stellenbosch Wine Routes.
The Stellenbosch
Street Soiree takes place from 18h00 to 20h00 (between Bird Street and Andringa
Street) and for R50 one gets a wine glass and a ticket to taste to your heart’s
content, while delicious street food will also be on sale on the evening.
The Stellenbosch
Street Soirees will be returning to a ‘new’ home in November – watch this
space.
