On Friday, 28 March 2014, The Twelve Apostles
Hotel and Spa will continue its monthly Food
& Wine Pairing series in Azure Restaurant to bring guests a gastronomic four-course dining
experience hosted by Executive Chef Christo Pretorius, together with husband
and wife team, Chris and Andrea Mullineux, owners of and winemakers of Mullineux Wines.

Hotels of the World member, coupled with an outstanding culinary offering and
outstanding service, promises a special evening for gastronomes and wine
enthusiasts alike.
Christo Pretorius Executive Chef
Located in the small village of Riebeek Kasteel, Mullineux winery
is considered as one of the ‘First Growths’ of South African wineries,
producing hand-crafted wines from the granite and shale based terroirs of the
Swartland region. Having received no less than 11 five stars from Platter’s
within only five years, and being awarded ‘Red Wine of the Year’ (2013) and ‘Winery
of the Year’ (2014), Mullineux wines will pair perfectly with Chef Christo’s
world-class cuisine.
The evening will commence with Pork belly and scallops, with prune,
pea and parmesan, which will be perfectly paired with the Mullineux White 2012.
Guests will then be treated to Smoked duck Carpaccio, duck croquette,
wild rocket, pecorino, orange and citrus aioli, accompanied byMullineux
Kloof Street Rouge 2012.

Moving on to the main course,
Azure’s team will put together a tender Lamb loin confit belly, served
with harissa, babaganoush, chick peas, baby marrow, pistachio and lamb jus.
Accompanied by the Mullineux Syrah 2011, this dish is destined to
leave you wanting more. Completing the experience, guests may enjoy a glass or
two of Mullineux Straw Wine 2012, together with Whipped
Rooibos Panna Cotta - rooibos gel, rooibos infused white chocolate, mango
sorbet, mango foam and shortbread, followed by Petits Fours served with tea
and coffee.
