Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel releases new captivating summer blush
Simonsig Estate, the home of South Africa’s first Méthode Cap Classique, has released a new vintage of the beguiling Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé that promises to perk up your summer.
Captivating with a seductive, misty pink hue, Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé 2011 is a vivacious blend of three Pinot varietals, Pinot noir (65%), Pinotage (21%), and Pinot meunier (14%). The result is a full-flavoured, refreshingly dry Cap Classique rosé with gorgeous fragrant berry fruitiness and silky smoothness on the palate.
“This bottle-fermented Cap Classique rosé made in the classic French style, epitomises elegance, quality and finesse and was crafted to elevate your most romantic moments,” shares Simonsig cellarmaster Johan Malan who first created this exciting rosé in 2004 by experimenting with Pinotage as one of the components of the blend.
With an elegant display of dancing pearls, the Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé 2011 entices the nose with mixed rose petals, luscious strawberries and fresh red berry aromas complemented by hints of orange peel. The palate teems with fresh fruit sealed with a subtle yet crisp acidity and tantalises the palate with an array of flavourful notes ending in a long, lingering finish.
This mesmerising blush matches exceptionally well with Thai dishes, fruit salads with red fruits and berries or those extra special occasions when delighting in crayfish thermidor or a divine dessert.
Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé 2011 retails from around R90 per bottle and is available from Simonsig Estate and leading wine outlets nationwide. For information or direct cellar orders contact Simonsig Estate on Tel: (021) 888 4915 or visit www.simonsig.co.za.
