When it was initially released it was a world first as a co-fermented Sangiovese and Merlot blend, “unusual” at first, it has slowly build a good following on wine lists demand, a well made red blend showing the best of both varieties with Merlot plumy and fairly juicy character coming to the fore, well offset by sour cherries and earthy note from the sangiovese, the oaking is subtle, lending just the right amount of spicy character, alcohol is on the high side at 14%, but served lightly chilled goes down very well with any Tuscan inspired dishes.
