Bellingham Insignia Series Citrus Grove Coastal Region Chenin Blanc 2012 89+ Points

Clear, pale straw with yellow reflections.

Clean, medium plus intensity, very good Chenin typicity, ripe red apples, citrus, white flowers such as camomille, honey, subtle tropical fruit note and hints of stone fruits such as nectarines.

Dry with dash of residual sugar for roundness, vibrant and fresh, citrussy, medium acidity, quite broad in texture, excellent purity, honest Chenin Blanc, very well price at less than R 29 trade (this shows again it is possible to do very good quality Chenin Blanc at this price, perfect candidate for by glass offerings!)

Perfect lunchtime or aperitif, yet serious enough to be paired with a versatility of food, an all rounder, impress your friends with this charming bottle.

A simple and perfect match will be a roast chicken and leek pie.

A summer 2012 hot lists wine.
