Cape of Good Hope Basson Swartland Pinotage 2008 79 Points
Inky black, dark almost impenetrable, rustic old fashion Pinotage style, soapy, possibly very high pH, muscular, yet have some surprising savouriness on structure, crunchy tannin, but somehow not in the same league as their maiden vintage (2007 – 88+ points), which was quite Chateauneuf du Pape in profile, something went terribly wrong here, disappointing to say the least, especially for the Cape of Good Hope range!!
