Laborie Western Cape Shiraz 2011 90+ Points

Perfect color, clear, day bright, youthful ruby red with purple rim.

Clean, medium plus intensity, more Syrah than Shiraz in definition and more Northern Rhone, leaning towards St Joseph, than New World in ripeness.

Floral with delicately ripe plums, cherries and blueberries, spicy cinnamon core, cloves and leather with hints of smoky streaky bacon.

Dry with medium plus acidity, fresh and crunchy, this wine is vibrant, showing lots of energy, the tannins are ripe and crunchy, the delicately juicy ripe fruit follows through with very good precision, almost a laser like purity, savory, graphite minerals, the alcohol is high (14%abv) but integrated, long and persistent.
