Anthonij Rupert Western Cape Merlot 2006 93 Points
Surprisingly more St Emilion than Pomerol in aromatic profile! Powerful, made to impress high ego very high alcohol (15% abv) wine, but nowhere to fault, besides the high alcohol which is integrated!!
Dark plums, cassis, black berries, tomato paste character, cedary, tobacco, rich and plush, juicy, intense toasty note, persistent.
Irrespective of it’s super showy profile it is a damn fine wine and tick all the right box.
