Spioenkop 1900 Western Cape Chenin Blanc 2011 91 Points

Clear, bright, pale straw with yellow reflections.

Clean, high intensity, lifted aromatics, ripe Golden Delicious apples, pears, yellow citrus, cling peaches, honey,  jasmin floral, stony mineral, subtle oak lending sweet vanillin character

Dry with dash of residual sugar, broad texture, creamy, yet fresh and super precise with bright medium plus acidity giving so much energy, perfect alcohol of 13%, crunchy, like biting in a freshly pick red apple, elegant, refreshing and moreish. Now, preferably with decanting for a few hours, will keep until 2019+

Food wine by excellence, will lend itself with a broad variety of classic dishes, for now, paired with a veal schnitzel served with a spring potato salad, fresh chives, shredded hickory ham, cooked egg yolk and South African extra virgin olive oil.
