Hermit on the Hill The Red Knight Durbanville 2010 90+ Points

A take on GSM concept blends, except this is a 52% Grenache Noir, 38% Syrah and 10% Malbec (not Mourvedre!) 100% sourced from Durbanville ward, showing a ruby red with garnet hue and  slightly brown on the rim.

Clean, moderate plus intensity, very good purity of fruit and ripeness defintion with ripe plums, blueberry pastille, earthy note with spicy oak, black olives in brine, layered complexity, engaging aromatics.

Dry with graphite note, black olives follows through, spicy core freshend with moderate plus acidity, moderate tannins, plush texture, juicy, savory, full bodied and warming with very high alcohol of 14.5% abv, smartly integrated, spicy farewell, persistent, moreish.

Clever blend as none of the varieties dominate, seamless integration
