Mount Abora Saffraan Swartland Cinsaut 2012 92+ Points

Pale ruby red with slight purple reflections towards the rim.

Clean, moderate plus intensity, first impression is that of a ripe Pinot Noir, yet with aeration no doubt this is as close to the Rhone we will get for Cinsaut in South Africa, intoxicatingly sexy with perfectly ripe mulberries, cherries and blueberry, delicate layers of stony minerals, subtle oaking lending a brush of spices.

Dry with red berries follows through, fresh and elegant with moderate plus acidity, lively and energetic in style, delicately juicy with just the perfect tannic grip lending character to the overall structure with a perfect alcohol of 12% abv, this is “super” table friendly drops, now until 2017+
