Almenkerk Wine Estate Elgin Sauvignon Blanc 2010 85 Points
Clear, day bright, pale straw with slight coppery reflection, no evidence of gas or sediment.
Clean, medium plus intensity with notes of ripe goosberries, passion fruit flower, kiwi and floral talc, no wood.
Dry with medium acidity, medium plus alcohol, new flavours of green lime, fleshy and ripe texture, tad warming, but well balanced, minerally driven, need time for all component to integrate, perhaps in another 12 month, very serious and smart wine, from Autumn 2012 until 2018, could warrant higher rating once settle.
