Journey's End Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 88 Points

Journey's End Vineyards

Clear, garnet, showing evolution with brown rim.

Clean, intense ripe Cabernet fruit, cassis, blackcurrant, herbaceous but not green, earthy, some notes of jaminess and overripeness, spicy core, generously oaked, probably french oak with complex cedary, tobacco and cigar character, powerful and complex.

It should be noted that the alcohol is noticeable, even when served at 16 degrees, yet with so much fruit.

Dry with some residual sugar, or due to high fruit concentration, lends that impression of sweetness, showing maturity, savoury black olives notes, leather, cassis in spirits, tad over extracted in style with high alcohol follows through (14%), now until 2017.
