Krone Borealis MCC Cuvee Brut 2001 89+ Points

Drinking surprisingly well for a 12+ years old bottle fermented Chardonnay & Pinot Noir Cap Classique, initially the bubbles were quite shy but as the bottle were exposed to air, for some mysterious reaction the bubbles were back to life, in fact it lasted a good 15 hours after opening!! The wine have certainly matured, though color is still pale straw, the bouquet shows a maturity rarely encountered in MCC’s, as the vast majority are consumed within +/- 3 years of release.
This is testament MCC wines can mature and evolved.
