Linton Park Chardonnay 2012 90 Points


It's great to see Linton Park back on track, remembering clearly in the late 90's their Chardonnay, was amongst South Africa's best wooded examples, subsequently they fell off the radar.
Their style was never over done, yes recognizable as a ripe offerings with toasty, nutty character, what has changed with the 2012 is welcomingly less wood and less malo, showcasing bright citrus, a taut and structured offerings, mealy, nutty complexity with honeyed farewell.
This is Wellington district by far finest example of wooded Chardonnay.
Now until 2016- 13.5% abv
