Decide for yourself at this years’ FNB Whisky Live Festival why the proudly South African Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky was listed as one of Ian Buxton’s 101 World Whiskies To Try Before You Die, the UK’s best seller offering a definitive guide to whiskies that every enthusiast should taste to extend their whisky education.
If you consider that there are more than 5000 whisky labels in the world, then being selected is no coincidence.
The whisky also received gold for three consecutive years at the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC).
So head to the FNB Whisky Live Festival to be held in Cape Town (3-5 October), Durban (1-2 November) and Johannesburg (7-9 November) and discover something truly extraordinary.
The whisky is crafted by master distiller Andy Watts at The James Sedgwick Distillery in Wellington and inspired by the Bain’s Kloof Pass and its natural beauty.
With a distinctive South African taste profile the whisky is created from the finest South African grain and made in a style that allows the maximum interaction between the cask and whisky by being double-matured - first for three years in specially selected oak casks that have been previously used only for Bourbon, and then re-vatted for a further two years in ex-Bourbon casks.
Find out more about this uniquely South African whisky by joining Andy Watts for one of his private tastings.
Bookings need to be made at the Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky stand during Whisky Live.
