Corder Chardonnay 2012 90 Points

Elgin have firmly established itself as a top quality Chardonnay district, in fact many of the top 20 Chardonnay's in South Africa are either made or source from Elgin fruit, with possibly over 95% are solid but not over the top oaked examples and it is about time and refreshing when I discovered this wine, with the faintest hints of oak, in fact it took me 7 days to finally dissect the brush of oak as all the way I was convinced it was unoaked, due to the fruit intensity, yet delicate and totally unshowy at the same time, Chablis like with magnificent restraint, bright and textural complexity that will only amplify with time in bottle, this is a serious drop to seek out, confident style with great food pairings affinity.
