PURE COUNTRY FACE OF DROSTDY-HOF

ISSUED BY DKC (DE KOCK COMMUNICATIONS) FOR DROSTDY-HOF
Merlot
Global sales of popular wine brand Drostdy-Hof might be powering ahead but that's no reason for complacency, believes global spokesperson Deidre Samson.

Watch out for a chic, new country look that gives pride of place on the pack to Drostdy-Hof's historic home in Tulbagh. De Oude Drostdy, the national monument was designed by famous architect, Louis Michel Thibault and built in 1804.

A remarkable building that has been near the brink of destruction on numerous occasions, most notably a fire and earthquake, it has been restored to stand as an example of the typically South African can-do attitude of resilience and endurance. It was home to many fascinating South African characters before becoming a museum and tasting centre.

The wines are available from leading stores countrywide and retail for around R30 for the bottled whites and R35 for the bottled reds, while the bag-in-box offerings are priced between R80 and R115.
