Welgegund Chiara 2009 68 Points

When this white blends was released, it shows a lot of promise with forthcoming fruit and a fat oily texture with moderate acidity, however 4 years in the bottle, though under screw cap, the wine is completely shot, only alcohol left, testament that it has been pick way too ripe for Paarl / Wellington hot climate, pity!
Alcohol: high| 14 %abv

Origin: Paarl 

Notes: cooked apples| straw | stewed pears | dried flowers | honey

Ideal drinking occasions: past it’s best

Serve with: good for marinating pork
