Muratie George Paul Canitz Pinot Noir 2011 86 Points

Current release is definitely the best expression of Pinot released to date by Muratie, following somewhat uninspiring 2009 (79+ Points) and 2010 (80 Points), 2011 shows significant improvement in being truer to Pinot typicity with a tangy and fresh core, the alcohol is slightly down but nevertheless still high at 14% for Pinot and the color though there have been improvement, tends to still be slightly on the darker side for a light skin variety! They are on the right track with some fine tuning it will be one of the Stellenbosch Pinot to watch over the next 3 to 5 years
Seek it out as it is approachable now, yet have stamina for the next 10 years.
