100% Garganega. Pale gold with yellow reflections.
Clean, intense, very ripe pears, lemon confit, honey, nutty and slight oxidative toast character, dry white flowers, possibly some older oak use, but neutral.
Dry with dash residual sugar, full on style, powerful and rich with concentrated texture, lacking freshness and delicacy, impressively high alcohol of 15.5% abv!!?? Shared a bottle for lunch in Venice one glass was enough, after a long flight!
This wine could have been made anywhere and have really lost it’s typicity with an unusually high alcohol, but why? Garganega could be uncomplicated, yet fresh and vibrant food wine, when pick less ripe!
35 Euros a bottle!
