Haute Cabriere Unwooded Franschhoek Pinot Noir 2011 83 Points

Cerise raspberry red with good Pinot hue.

Clean, moderate intensity, initial impression is quite Beaujolais like, delicately ripe cherries, strawberries and red currants, excellent purity of fruit, some earthy, cherry pip note, no wood!

Dry with some residual sugar, moderate plus acidity, fresh and elegant, the low alcohol of 12 % abv is perfect for long lazy summer lunches, preferably served slightly chilled.
Will lend itself to a variety of food, will be perfect with roasted Peking duck wrapped in a pancake with Hoisin sauce and plum sauce, spring onions and fresh cucumber! Now until 2014!

Good buy at under R 85 per bottle
