A recent tasting held and GIBS in Johannesburg organized by the Chilean consulate in South Africa, showcase the diversity of Chilean wines and terroir.
The occasion was to show 10 wines as well as a variety of dishes made from Chilean salmon, the world 2nd largest producer after Norway!
Some of the wines are available locally via Nixan wines (Concha Y Toro) as well as Gabba International (San Pedro and Vina Tarapaca) and they are exceptionally well priced.
I will urge consumers to seek out these wines in retail with some as low as under R30, which is a great bargain in these time and at the top end Chile over delivers with bottles rarely exceeding R 200 retail.
A good addition to the South African wine landscape!
